PC Clean Plus is a registry optimizer. This type of application works by finding and eliminating registry errors, such as those left behind by uninstalling applications and changing system variables. This cleaning has an impact on system stability and speed, as it reduces the time necessary to find a given registry entry.
The tool has a very easy-to-use tabbed interface, appropriate for any kind of user. By just pushing a button the tool starts exploring for errors. Once the results are ready, another button triggers automatic cleaning actions. Throughout the whole process, you will receive helpful visual feedback on the system status. To make it even easier, you can also schedule automatic cleaning.
On the one hand, I think it’s good that human intervention is minimal. On the other hand, I strongly believe that users should also be given the possibility of deciding, should they wish so. In this respect, the program restricts users’ decision by backing up the registry without requiring a confirmation. More than just that, it doesn´t allow choosing which errors to fix from the results list. One thing in its favor is that you can set the program to scan given areas only and create exclusion lists.
In general, PC Clean Plus seems to be good registry optimizer as it successfully came up with a list of errors. However, judging the impact of its actions is particularly difficult if the trial version only allows fixing five of the errors found. Unfortunately, compared with other optimizers, this one is quite limited; just to mention two examples, it doesn’t allow erasing the junk data left behind by the system and the browser or managing startup lists.
